GOLF COURSE

ABOUT THE COURSE

The course layout at our facility is one of the highest quality. Fairways of Canton take players on a journey through 18 holes and 6500 yards of play. The course is a par 72, and it features some of the best views in the region. Be warned — this is not a course that can be overpowered.

Many fairways are generous and most greens are on the smaller side with numerous chipping areas to assist you if you miss a green or two during a round. Our greens are the only ultra dwarf Bermuda greens at any public golf course in the area. Correct placement on greens is pivotal to good scoring.

Course: Rating 72.3 / Slope 135

Par 4

Handicap

  • Men: 7
  • Women: 7

380 -Black
300 – Blue
275 – Gray
225 – Green

A big fairway lies among the picturesque bunkering on this medium length Par 4 opening hole.   Aim at the bunker on the left, to provide the best angle into the green. Only the strongest of players will be able to reach this bunker, as it lies 290 yards away from the back tee.

Par 3

Handicap

  • Men: 15
  • Women: 15

205 – Black
185 – Blue
175 – Gray
125 – Green

This hole plays at least one club less due to elevation drop. Avoid missing left.

Par 4

Handicap

  • Men: 3
  • Women: 3

445 – Black
405 – Blue
325 – Gray
275 – Green

This is the first real challenge.  One of the longest Par 4 will test the even the finest golfers mettle.  Beware; the lake begins at the 150 marker, so judge your tee shot appropriately.  The lake also protects the green on your approach shot to this monster of a hole.  Never fear though, there are bail out areas left and beyond.

Par 4

Handicap

  • Men: 5
  • Women: 5

420 – Black
410 – Blue
400 – Gray
360 – Green

Avoid the fairway bunker at all cost.  Most players in the bunker will not be able to reach the green in regulation.  Over the bunker is no good either; the smart play is to the left of the bunker, which leaves a longer shot to the green.

Par 4

Handicap

  • Men: 13
  • Women: 13

300 – Black
275 – Blue
240 – Gray
215 – Green

Do not let the length fool you.  Anything less than a precise drive will leave a bad angle into a severely slope green.  The lack of sand at the green does not make the hole easier.  There are numerous hollows that must be avoided to secure par.

Par 4

Handicap

  • Men: 9
  • Women: 9

355 – Black
330 – Blue
305 – Gray
240 – Green

This straightaway Par 4 plays slightly downhill off the tee.  A well-positioned tee shot will leave a short-middle iron to another small green which is also guarded by a deep hollow on the left side.

Par 5

Handicap

  • Men: 1
  • Women: 1

470 – Black
435 – Blue
410 – Gray
300 – Green

The best drive of the day is essential to reach this hole in two shots.  Beware of the creek guarding the front of the green.  The prudent player will consider playing this as a three shot hole.

Par 3

Handicap

  • Men: 17
  • Women: 17

185 – Black
165 – Blue
135 – Gray
110 – Green

This is the shortest hole on the course.  However, it plays at least one club uphill.  Due to the three tiered proper club selection is imperative.

Par 4

Handicap

  • Men: 11
  • Women: 11

350 – Black
345 – Blue
325 – Gray
265 – Green

Long hitters are better off leaving driver in the bag on this hole.  Aim your tee shot to the right of the fairway bunker.  Beware of the blind lake on the left beginning at the 100 yard marker.

Par 4

Handicap

  • Men: 14
  • Women: 12

415 – Black
340 – Blue
270 – Gray
215 – Green

Again do not let the length fool you.  This is a very demanding short hole.  Bunkers are strategically placed to entice you to hit driver past them.  However, this will leave a more difficult approach shot.  Any ball short-right of the green will funnel almost 25 yards away from the green.

Par 5

Handicap

  • Men: 2
  • Women: 2

500 – Black
475 – Blue
450 – Gray
420 – Green

A reachable dogleg left.  There are no bunkers on this hole, but the green is severally guarded by hollows and mounds.

Par 4

Handicap

  • Men: 10
  • Women: 8

360 – Black
335 – Blue
305 – Gray
270 – Green

This short Par 4 has a generous landing area and the green is well protected by a large hollow on the front right.  Pick the right club for the approach as this is one of the smallest green on the course.

Par 4

Handicap

  • Men: 8
  • Women: 10

425 – Black
390 – Blue
300 – Gray
215 – Green

This downhill Par 4 will require a well-placed tee shot to the right of the large boulders in the fairway.  Most shots off the hillside on the right should kick down onto the green.

Par 3

Handicap

  • Men: 18
  • Women: 18

180 – Black
175 – Blue
155 – Gray
140 – Green

Another demanding par 3 that plays several clubs downhill.  There is a bail-out area short of the green, but anything over the back or left is in dire straits.

Par 5

Handicap

  • Men: 6
  • Women: 6

450 – Black
430 – Blue
370 – Gray
365 – Green

Recurring theme, do not underestimate this short hole.  It has a steep slope on the left and trouble all along the right hand side with a creek and thick woods.  Play it as a three shot hole to secure your par.

Par 4

Handicap

  • Men: 14
  • Women: 14

340 – Black
320 – Blue
295 – Gray
210 – Green

Play it safe off the tee and then attack.  Trouble awaits any ball out to the right.  Bail out area is left of the green.

Par 3

Handicap

  • Men: 16
  • Women: 16

205 – Black
180 – Blue
160 – Gray
140 – Green

While the same distance as number 2; this hole plays at least one club uphill.  Make sure you take enough club to get on the proper shelf.

Par 5

Handicap

  • Men: 4
  • Women: 4

515 – Black
490 – Blue
460 – Gray
420 – Green

Beautiful views.  Check. Big fairway.  Check.  Reachable Par 5.  Check.  This hole is a tremendous finishing hole.  Hit a big drive and you can reach it two, otherwise, lay up on the second shot and attack on the third.
